Don't (always) sweat the small stuff

First time I've ever even attempted a peacock. The colours ended up rather muddy but I'm still kinda happy with it because I learnt a lot, especially that a looser style can still be very effective in portraying something with a lot of detail. I mean seriously, can you imagine how long this would take if you were trying to get in every little nuance of colour and texture?? I need to learn to let go... So, a general impression of texture can  actually work really well. Hmm, will have to try and play with this some more.
